Take off the past

"Take off the helmet", he said.

"I can't" I said, "What if I crash?"

"We're in bed", he said. "And take off your jacket".

"I can't", I said, "I'll be cold".

"I have my arms around you", he said. "...and take off your shoes".

 "I can't" I said, "what if i need to run?"
